You asked for photos of Avenue East, so here they are. The Streeterville high-rise, developed by Residential Homes of America, Inc and designed by Built Form Architecture, is nearing completion.

The building sits on a site at 160 E Illinois St, smack next to the InterContinental Chicago. What do Yo'all think - is that wall of concrete facing Illinois Street a tad imposing? Or is the effect mitigated by the windows into the parking garage and the ornamental details on the concrete?

The building is ready for immediate occupancy, with 15 units still for sale. Prices range from the $290s to the $980s.

I have to hold my stomach when I walk by this building! I cannot believe anyone would A) buy a unit in this building, 2) is this what Chicago calls architecture????? Who came up with the design for this building?? Id love to meet them and show them some true great Chicago architecture, infact this building is surrounded by great architecture!

I think it works. The view from Michigan Avenue is wonderful. It is a contextual piece…
