Sales update: One left at 1529 West Chestnut

Posted 10/6/2008 by Mark Boyer

1529 W Chestnut St in Noble Square, Chicago

This five-unit development at 1529 W Chestnut St is one that I came across while shooting a video in Noble Square last week, and I recently learned that one of the condos is still available. Derek DiSera from Koenig & Strey GMAC Real Estate says that last remaining home is unit 101, a three-bedroom / three-bath duplex down.

According to the listing, unit 101 has 2,000 square feet of living space, and it comes with a large private terrace. DiSera says the place is currently priced at $519,000, which is $5,000 less than it was listed for when Joe wrote about it back in March. Parking in the attached three-car garage is offered for $20,000, which brings the total price back up into the $530s.

The development's Web site says kitchens have Scavolini and Fagor kitchen cabinets and appliances, as well as Toto and BainUltra fixtures in the baths. A floor plan for unit 101 is below.

Someone clearly bought off an Alderman to build this one!

Matt,

I don't have a habit of coming to the defense of Chicago aldermen - far from it.

You've charged a developer and an alderman with criminal conduct without stating any basis for your ugly charge.

If you have a basis, state it. If not and your comment stands, then many a reader may consider you a degraded creep.

Double lot with RM5 zoning; they could have actually gotten more than 5 units on the lot.

What is more interesting is that there are 8 lots (these two included) in the middle of this block zoned RM5 while the rest of the block is RS3.
