Construction checkup: One Museum Park
Posted 8/4/2008 by Joseph AskinsThis construction update comes courtesy of New Homes photographer Michael Kardas, who made his way onto the construction site at 1215 S Prairie Ave a week or two ago.
The MLS surfaces more than 50 One Museum Park condos listed by Ralph Oliva or other Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage agents, at prices ranging from the $820s for a 1,465 square-foot, two-bedroom / two-bath home to $2.65 million for a 2,924 square-foot, three-bedroom / three-bath home, but I can't say whether those are the only units in The Enterprise Companies' remaining inventory.

That is a great photograph. I like the blue of the building against the blue sky and white clouds. I also like how the perspective captures the height of this structure.

Thanks, Mike.
Michael - don't ever call him Mike - Kardas has been working with us for just over 20 years now, and I'm continually in awe of some of the shots he comes back with.
We compress these photos heavily for the Web. The originals are a real joy to see.

Yesterday while driving down S Michigan it really hit me just how much the 'hood has blown up over the past few years.
This design epitomizes the city of big shoulders nick. Any info on the schedule for the 2nd tower?

I have been in the building several times, and have friends & family who have bought there.
POSITIVES; the '04' units facing east that are 2BR +den are about the only real value of the building. Great layout and views.
NEGATIVES;
I am very disappointed in the common area and ammenity quality; just downright plain.
The pool, workout rooms, lobby, etc., inside the building are the most boring interiors I have ever seen. Ho Hum! For over $1MM you would think the building would have some bling.
Surprisingly, Trump blows this building away, and it is not even close
As well, the development design center staff for this project are the most useless and arrogant design staff I have ever witnessed. Your spending $1MM on a place, and they treat customers as if they are bothering the staff. They actually steer you away from doing any upgrades.
The large north facing units overlooking the tracks and city view are a waste of money in my opinion.

It's pretty amazing how prominent this building looks when driving north on Lake Shore Drive. It's in a location, for me, that is a top pick for young professionals, retired folk and those enjoying an "in-town".
I can't speak to the value… I think the Museum Park Lofts at 125 East 13th Street is the best value in terms of what you get for purchase price in this "Museum" bunch.
But, this building is the most prestigious looking and I feel does the skyline some good driving in. Takes your mind off the spaceship Soldier Field.
