More from the Plan Commission meeting: zoning OK'd for three condo projects

The Chicago Plan Commission approved zoning changes Thursday for three condo projects. Here they are, from north to south:

In Lincoln Park: Developer 1301 West Diversey, LLC is planning 12 townhouses and 13 single-family homes at 1301 W Diversey Parkway, along with 50 garage parking spaces. The commission voted to rezone the vacant site to allow multi-unit residential buildings.

In University Village: Banner, LLC plans to develop a 12-story building at 1431 S Blue Island Ave with 130 condos and 8,562 square feet of retail on the ground floor. The group will also build a 4,000-square-foot TCF Bank branch with 19 parking spaces. The council approved a zoning change from a C-2 to a B2-5, which allows more range for development and is meant to create growth on underdeveloped streets. Ald. Danny Solis (25th) said, “I think it’s going to add to the neighborhoods I have in my ward, especially neighborhoods like Pilsen.”

In South Shore: Shoreline Development, LLC plans to construct an eight-story building with 32 condos and 35 parking spaces at 7810 S South Shore Drive in the 7th Ward. The property was rezoned to allow mid- and high-rises.
