I'm still trying to puzzle out what motivated the Berwynites to place this billboard on Orleans Street, around the corner from Yo's River North office. Can anyone aid my understanding?
Well they do do have a condo at the Berwyn Metra station. I used to live near there and if you live within walking distance of that station, getting to work downtown with the communter train does make things real easy.
Speaking as a former Berwynite, those signs are such a waste of money. And over the past several years, the voters in Berwyn rejected 2 referendums for school funding. Maybe if the schools were better, people would move to Berwyn without the stupid signs.
Those signs are clearly aimed at the thousands of commuters that make their way through River North to the Kennedy Expressway every day. Most people spending time in River North on a daily basis don't LIVE in River North.
I say this marketing effort can't possibly hurt Berwyn. But yes, education should be a top priority.

CaptainVideo,
It's real easy to get downtown from River North also. Oh wait, you're already downtown.

I see that they list both sports and recreation - I wonder what kind of sports Berwyn has to offer.

Notice 'Fun' didn't make the ring of circles…

Berwyn has a marketing campaign running to get folks to move there. They are targeting the hipsters, gays, young families. Good for them!

garrett,
Perhaps that's why "schools" didn't make it into the Berwyn circle.

Not everybody can afford to live in River North.
