Try it. You will like it.

Every successful neighborhood is successful, to an extent that would surprise most of its residents, because of the efforts of small groups of committed people who toil without much recognition.

Last night we attended the bi-monthly meeting of Triangle Neighbors. Triangle covers the area bounded on the east by Halsted (800 W), on the north by Addison (3600 N), and on the west by Clark Street.

If you’ve never been to a meeting of your neighborhood group, you’ve cheated yourself out of one of Chicago’s great pleasures. The city’s diversity is a hard concept for many people to buy into in the abstract. Put a dozen human faces on the concept, and you’ll want more of it.

Our thanks to Triangle Neighbors and its president, Jim Ludwig, and to the Lake View Citizens Council for letting us talk a bit about Yo Chicago.
