It’s not often– okay, it’s hardly ever– that we see such a great looking building come from such a hideous rendering, but R.E.M. Homes’ Metro on Melrose, located at 519 W Melrose St in Lake View, left us quite stunned. The building is a conversion, if you can believe it, with an all-new red sandstone facade and remarkably expressive windows. Only a pair of Metro’s 58 condos remain: a one-bedroom with a den on the fourth floor for $275,000 and another on the third floor for $260,000. Parking is also available for $27,500.
