Video vault: Eco18 goes for LEED Gold

by Joseph Askins on 3/1/09

I’ll say this about Dynaprop Development: It hasn’t given up hope. The Chicago Journal reported in October that Eco18, Dynaprop’s proposed 93-unit green development at 1818 S Wabash Ave, was just 20 percent sold. The start of construction, the article said, could be as far off as 2012. But the last I checked, Jameson Real Estate was still keeping a sales center open on Sunday afternoons, and an agent working on the project told me last month that Dynaprop was ready to wait things out. Jameson currently has 15 one- and two-bedroom units listed at prices ranging from the $250s to the $640s.

There’s been talk lately about Dynaprop building an eco-friendly mid-rise adjacent to Eco18’s plot, but a Dynaprop representative told me last week that the company still wasn’t ready to release any details about it. Should the company choose to move forward with it, we’ll track down whatever information we can find and pass it along. In the meantime, take a trip back to February 2008 and revisit Eco18’s sales center with Joe Zekas and Dynaprop’s Rick Turner. Two other segments with Turner are linked below.
