We like to watch: Beverly manse for $1.35M

$1.35M Beverly home

Things just don’t seem to be built with the same level of skill and craftsmanship today as when this stately “Victorian manor” in Beverly was constructed. Despite the listing description, we didn’t see anything particularly Victorian about the 100-year-old house. But there’s no denying the grandeur of its Corinthian columns, five bedrooms, four-plus baths, woodburning fireplace, double oak staircases, arched French doors, stained glass and large site (nearly five city lots).

Although the finishes are old school, there are modern conveniences too – a Viking stove, granite counters and a KitchenAid refrigerator in the updated kitchen, for example.

The home is located at 10552 S Seeley Ave, just up the street from Beverly’s historic Longwood Drive. Betsy Green, managing broker of Beverly-based Lincoln Park Homes, Ltd has the property listed for $1.35 million.

Why is a real estate brokerage called Lincoln Park Homes working from and listing properties in Beverly, on the Southwest Side? Green and her husband, Quentin, relocated the business from Lincoln Park to Beverly when they moved to the area three years ago. They still do a lot of work on the North Side, however, and have no plans to change the name.
