What do rental service agents really earn at Live Here Chicago?

We’ve previously written about fraudulent reviews of Live Here Chicago, one of the rental services on our do-not-call list. We’ve also called attention to a former agent at the firm trashing the firm on Yelp. Another former agent has been writing at Google Plus and on the firm’s Facebook page about having been paid to write false reviews.

We’ve also singled out the firm as one of the 10 most prolific Craigslist apartment ad spammers. A recent comment on that post linked to the above recruiting ad for the firm at Craigslist, and expressed skepticism about a six-figure income claim in the ad.

We sampled dozens of Live Here Chicago apartment ads at Craigslist and identified eight individual agents. All of the agents were rookies, some so new that they aren’t yet in the IDFPR licensing database. We couldn’t find an agent roster at the firm’s website to try to reach out to more experienced agents (if any exist) at the firm. An agent roster is a feature you’ll find at virtually every legitimate brokerage firm.

In the meantime, we’re deeply skeptical about the firm’s income claims. One claim early in the ad is, on its face, laughably untrue with regard to rental services: “Our agents enjoy working in an area of real estate that offers a steady income throughout the year.”

I’m at a complete loss to understand how anyone who researches this firm would consider working with or for it.
