Architecture critic Lynn Becker reports that the landmark Three Arts Club will not be converted to a columbarium, but that the developers still consider that concept viable.

Chicago Spire

What other sites would be appropriate? Anyone plugging for the Chicago Ex-Spire?

What’s going on with the Spire? With all those beautiful views from lakeshore east buildings (Aqua, 340 OTP…) ya think these real estate prices should be reduced more because of that big @!#$ hole. Also, Ty Warner is in a lot of luxury hotel trouble. Do you think he might ask for his money back on the Spire?

The old Post Office comes to mind.

Given the $300 charge for a case of Coke or Pepsi at McCormick Place perhaps it’s time to find another use for that space also.

Personally once I’ve shuffled off this mortal coil I prefer my ashes be put into a firework round and shot above the crowd in Grant Park during the annual 3rd of July Fireworks show.

That way folks can breathe in my sugary goodness.

Now that I think about it place half of my ashes into the water system.

My mom had a friend who wanted her ashes spread in the “Country Shop” at Marshall Fields…

(this was the long ago Tweed Department for anglophile ladies)
