Will Park Kingsbury return from the deadpool as apartments?

In the boom years of the mid-2000s the River North site formerly occupied by Ronsley was one of the most sought-after development opportunities on the north side.

The site, which includes a 5-story loft building (pictured above) at the southwest corner of Kingsbury and Huron and a parcel of vacant land at the northeast corner of Erie and Kingsbury (arrow, below), has been the subject of many YoChicago posts as Park Kingsbury Lofts.

We featured the project at the time as our Dustbunny of the day and, a few days later, linked to a Crain’s report on a previous foreclosure.

Nearly five years ago we took a look at the site and toured a model unit in the following video:

Crain’s Chicago Real Estate Daily reported yesterday that the site is being acquired out of its latest foreclosure by an investor group and will be developed into approximately 40 apartments. The video should give you some insight into what the apartments might look like.

We’ve added the prospective development to our at-a-glance list of downtown apartment projects.
