Woman attacked in Lincoln Park garden apartment

by alison on 5/10/06

We’ve talked before about the potential hazards of living in a garden apartment but the issue really hit home with the report this week about the woman who was sexually assaulted in her Lincoln Park home. The Sun-Times story I linked to here doesn’t mention that the woman was living in a garden apartment, but T.V. newscasters reported that she did. But I guess first-floor apartments aren’t much safer. I’d like to hear from anyone who owns a garden condo. How’s it working out? Does it feel at all dark, claustrophobic or unsafe? I’ve noticed that condo prices seem to rise by about $40,000 with each floor of a building (in two- to six-flats anyway). It seems like people who buy garden condos should get an even bigger price-break.
