Construction on The Chicago Spire

The Chicago Spire isn’t changing Chicago’s skyline yet – right now architect Santiago Calatrava’s spiraling 150-story tower is just a few caissons and piles of mud. But work has begun at the site, at 420 E North Water St, and a sales center is slated to open Sept. 26.

This can’t be. Don’t believe your eyes – the Donald said it was “financially impossible” for this to be built.

I’m sure the Donald and all his guests will appreciate the fine views they will have of the Spire, since it will be rising up directly east of what would have been their lake vista!
