1225 Old Town lands a plum retail tenant

Residents of 1225 Old Town, the new apartment tower about to open at 1225 N Wells St, could look forward to a feast of nearby grocery shopping options: a Jewel, a Dominick’s, two Potash Markets, two Treasure Islands, two Whole Foods and a Trader Joe’s – for starters.

All of those grocers may have a tough time attracting business from 1225 residents who will have a new Plum Market on-site. Crain’s recently reported that Plum Market will be leasing 28,000 of the approximately 30,000 square feet of retail space in the development. This will be Plum Market’s first foray outside of its Michigan base.

The exterior of 1225 Old Town was nearing completion last Monday when I shot the above photo. The leasing office is open across the street at 1212 N Wells.
