Construction appears to be cruising forward on the nine-unit condo development at 1838 W Division St in Wicker Park. Of course, it could only appear to be moving fast relative to the nearby Wicker Park developments at 1919 W Crystal St and 2028 W Division St (the latter of the two still hasn’t gotten off the ground).
When I posted on the development in December, the foundation was finished and a few steel beams had been erected. Now, the building has reached full height, some masonry has been added on the corners, and glass has already been installed on the ground floor.
Despite the fast start, the building wouldn’t be finished and ready for move-ins for another year, as Prime Properties Realty agent Sophie Kos told me in December that “Spring 2010” was the expected completion time. Barring unforeseen setbacks, it seems likely that they will meet that goal.
The nine two-bedroom / two-baths in 1838 West Division will be priced from the $390s to the $790s.
