Anticipating a slow Mother’s Day, the 215 West apartment tower in the Loop sent an email blast on Saturday reminding rental services that it’s paying a higher than normal commission for renting some of its apartments:
Hi Brokers!
We don’t have many showings scheduled for tomorrow (Sunday) so I thought I would reach out! Also we are still at 150% commission!!!
We have two 2 bedrooms on manager’s special! These are the only 2 apartments that are at 100% commission, not 150%.
Is this a sign that the apartments at 215 West aren’t competitive on their merits?
If you’re using a rental service you should negotiate at least half of its commission back into your pocket – unless you’re enamored of paying $1,000s of dollars for a few cab rides and bad advice.
You can hear about the services of 215 West’s “door-cierge” in the above video.
