Deadline to purchase Fordham Spire site looms this week

Will he or won’t he? Crain’s Chicago Business reports today that Christopher Carley of The Fordham Company has until later this week to stump up the money to purchase the $64 million site for Fordham Spire, but it’s unclear whether the developer has the money.

The dramatic 124-story tower was designed by Santiago Calatrava, and would be the tallest building in the United States. According to the story, the developer has taken $20,000 on 90 of the 300 condos at an average price of $1,150 a square foot.
