Is East Lake Shore Drive just a little too exclusive for your tastes (or your bank account)? This week Jennifer Ames of Coldwell Banker listed a 2,300 square-foot co-op home two blocks south at 227-235 E Delaware Pl for $540,000, or $235 a square foot. That might not be a steal for this building — the third-floor home in the same tier sold last year in the $370s — but it’s not too bad, either — just look at the $950,000 price tag on a similarly sized second-floor unit. (Granted, that price also reflected the home’s “total reconstruction” by architects at McWilliams Burgener.)

Unit 7D has original crown molding, a wood-burning fireplace, hardwood floors, track lighting, a kitchen with granite countertops and a Viking range, two en-suite bedrooms with vintage baths, two maids’ bedrooms in tandem for a bedroom / office setup, a third full bath, and laundry hookups.
