Chicago condo developers try to lure buyers away from the lake

It seems that everywhere you turn a developer is offering some sort of a deal to speed up slow summer sales. At 918 W Ainslie, buyers are being offered below-market financing (no further details given) and a $500 credit for a new bicycle, so buyers can tool around on a bike on the nearby lakefront trail.

At Catalpa Gardens Condominiums, 1122 W Catalpa Ave, a 126-unit mid-rise that’s been on the market for at least a couple of years but remains about 70 percent sold, is offering buyers a $2,500 bonus to spend at the development’s design center and six months of assessments.

At McKinley Park Lofts, 2323 W Pershing Rd, buyers can get a $1,000 incentive toward the purchase of a washer and a dryer.
