Alderman George Cardenas has high hopes for the revitalization of McKinley Park, Brighton Park and other surrounding neighborhoods, welcoming projects such as McKinley Park Lofts and McKinley Park Village. Western Boulevard between 39th and 49th streets was recently rezoned from commercial to business, to allow a mix of residential and retail, and Cardenas says the rezoning is key to revitalizing Western and the surrounding neighborhood.
