One of the best bicycle tours I’ve taken part in in Chicago was a tour of Pilsen, organized by the Chicago Cycling Club. So I was pleased to hear about the Pilsen / Little Village Bicycle Alliance, which aims to connect cyclists across age, cultural and language differences and promote bicycling on the Southwest Side. The group also lobbies for the improvement of local roads and generally draws attention to Pilsen as a great place to live. The alliance sponsors a monthly bike ride through the heart of Pilsen called “Circular Mass”; the final ride for 2006 is on December 22.
