How do you sell a curvaceous condo? Call in the folks from IKEA

Click for larger imageWhen we looked at the whacky shape of one of the floor plans at the Citizens State Bank Lofts yesterday, it reminded us of a chat we had with the folks at the Winmore condo development, 4616 – 4620 N Kenmore Ave, in Uptown.

When we spoke to Sussex & Reilly marketing agent Jay Kuchenbecker a while back, he said that the elevator building has a gentle curve where Winthrop Avenue arches around to intersect Kenmore Avenue, so some of the rear units have curves. To allay fears that the curved units are difficult to furnish, the developer, O’Flaherty Builders, enlisted IKEA to stage the condos. Homebuyers have the option of purchasing the IKEA furnishings, Kuchenbecker said.

A few units remain for sale on the Sussex & Reilly Web site. The room pictured here doesn’t seem too curvy, though.
