Dude! I found an awesome condo in RedEye

Dude! Don’t you think that free newspaper RedEye, like, totally rocks? Judging by the condo development ads that keep appearing in the Chicago Trib’s tabloid freebie, both the newspaper and the real estate world have this demographic pegged as Lincoln Park and Lake View-aspirational.

It seems that there are plenty of vintage, rehabilitated apartment buildings going condo in these neighborhoods. The projects advertised include Roscoe Court Condominiums, 622-626 W Roscoe St, where one-bedrooms are priced from the $260s, and two-bedrooms are in the $350s.

Then there is Kroupa Development’s 450 West Briar, which is also offering one-bedrooms priced in the $260s. Actually, 450 West Briar is channeling Melrose Place for us, with its rooftop swimming pool.

For those interested in the L.P., you’ll find the stodgily-named Mildred Court Condominiums, also from Kroupa.

Is this place named for the developer’s octogenarian aunt? If so, we don’t think Great Aunt Mildred would approve of the young chap in the ad who is wearing the backwards baseball cap. Wait on, it’s at 2701-11 N Mildred Court. Anyone for MiCo instead?

Interestingly, this development is priced a little lower than the others, with one-bedrooms in the $190s, while two-bedrooms are going for the $290s.
