The apartments
768 West Jackson is a studio only building. Floor plans are available online. The apartments are on the small side, but they’re all new and have stylish finishes, an attractive location, and rents well below almost everything in the hot West Loop.
Apartments have hardwood floors. Vintage touches include crown moldings. Kitchens have been updated with newer cabinets, granite counters, stainless steel appliances, electric cooktops, dishwashers and microwaves. All units have central air.
Units include access to internet and DirecTV family package programming.
Amenities, services, policies
Like most vintage buildings, 768 West Jackson Grove has a limited common-area amenities package.
The building has a lower-level fitness room, a large adjacent laundry room, bike room and resident storage.
A roof deck is planned to open in 2016.
Location
768 West Jackson’s West Loop location is within easy walking distance of the Loop. The site is in the heart of the dining and nightlife strip known as Greektown.
The University of Illinois at Chicago is a few blocks south of the building.
Shopping. 768 West Jackson is two short blocks from the highly-popular Mariano’s on Halsted St, and within a few blocks of a Whole Foods, Jewel-Osco, Walmart Neighborhood Market and the French Market at metramarket.
Dining. There are dozens of restaurants within a few blocks’ radius of 768 West Jackson, and many more in nearby Loop and Fulton River District locations.
Greek Islands is located a block from 768 West Jackson, and the popular Meli Café is just across the street. Many residents are likely to avail themselves of the seemingly endless array of take-out options at the nearby Mariano’s.
Parks, recreation. 768 West Jackson is three blocks block southeast of the new Mary Bartelme Park at Adams and Peoria. Heritage Green, two blocks northeast, is a one-acre passive green space that offers little in the way of recreational opportunities.
Transportation. 768 West Jackson fronts the western edge of I-90/94 and has excellent access to the city’s expressway grid. Metra’s Ogilvie Transportation Center is a half-dozen blocks to the northeast and Union Station is four blocks to the east.
A number of CTA bus lines criss-cross the area.
The UIC-Halsted Stop on the CTA’s Blue Line provides access to points west, to the Loop, to O’Hare Airport and connections to other CTA train lines.
