Curbed Chicago recently billed an 8,650 square foot home as a “temple of excess.” Some buyers would consider that size home pitifully inadequate.
Earlier today I took a brief look at just part of a 20,000 square foot home in Northfield that yet other buyers may consider barely adequate. It features 7 bedrooms, 7 full and 4 half baths, a 4-car garage and just over an acre of land.
Who needs that size home? A diplomat or a corporate executive who entertains frequently, an interior designer whose home showcases his talents – the list can go on at length, and includes many people who have a very different concept of “need” than the rest of us do.
The home is new to the market, and listed for sale at $5,999,000 with Linda Levin of Jameson Real Estate.
