A week from Saturday is National Rebuilding Day, and over 1,000 volunteers will be working on repairs and renovations at 72 homes in the city’s Englewood neighborhood and south suburban Markham.
Rebuilding Together, Metro Chicago is the local affiliate of a national organization. It repairs and renovates homes for low-income elderly, disabled and young families who own their own homes.
Everyone who’s fortunate enough to take “warm, safe and dry” — the group’s motto — for granted, should consider volunteering or contributing.
