Developer George Thrush, of The Thrush Companies, weighs in on the state of the housing market. Like most developers, he’s upbeat, saying, “real estate can not go down.” He’s dismissive of the credit crunch, pointing out that while it might be tougher to get a mortgage now than during the recent housing boom, mortgage rates are relatively low when viewed in historic terms. And he predicts those rates are likely to rise in the next several years. “I think now is the time to buy,” he says.
