A close-up look at New City’s construction progress

New City is a huge, mixed-use, transit-oriented development at Halsted and Clybourn on the Near North Side.

New City will have about 400,000 square feet of office, retail, entertainment and dining space, an 1,100-car parking garage and a 19-story, 199-unit apartment tower.

New City will be anchored by an 80,000 square foot Mariano’s which, probably not coincidentally, is the size of the world’s largest Whole Foods, in London. Major upscale entertainment venues will include a 14-screen ArcLight Cinemas and Canadian-based Kings Bowl. Committed restaurants include Yardhouse, Adobe Gila’s and Earl’s Kitchen, all of them national chains that are new to Chicago.

Construction is moving forward simultaneously on all of New City’s components. We’ll be checking in periodically on the progress of New City and other new construction projects, so visit YoChicago.com to stay up-to-date.
