A concrete crowd at Catalyst

It’s been nearly two weeks since the tower crane was completed at Catalyst, a 22-story, 223-apartment building under construction at 630 W Washington in the West Loop.

When I stopped by yesterday there was a crowd of concrete finishers at work completing the building’s first story.

Large forms were being assembled in a staging area immediately west of the site, facilitating the tower’s rapid rise. In just a few days you’ll need an elevated vantage point to see the scale of activity that you can now view from ground level.
