These photos were taken from Mesirow Financial Real Estate‘s R+D659, which is currently under construction at 659 W Randolph St in the West Loop. I’m not sure from which floor the photos were taken, but I’d assume that Mesirow’s photographer was standing near the top of the 15-story high-rise. R+D659 is scheduled for completion in March 2009.
Personally, I prefer the views from the near south side, like from 1555 South Wabash and Prairie Point. They have more attractive views of the city.
