A decade of national and local home values

Case-Shiller home values for 2000-2009

Now that the Standard & Poor’s site is back up, I’ve been able to pull some numbers from the latest Case-Shiller report. Using Google Docs, I put together this graph of home value trends from January 2000 to December 2009.

In blue you see the values for Case-Shiller’s 20-city “national” market. Red represents values of all Chicago homes, and orange represents just Chicago condo values.
