A drive through Roosevelt Square

The last stop on our mixed-income tour took us to Roosevelt Square, which consists of a slew of townhomes and condos in six-flat, twelve-flat and elevator buildings in the Near West side and parts of Little Italy. The development has properties sprinkled between Polk St south to 15th St and from Carpenter St west to Ashland Ave.

Like Parkside of Old Town, which we visited earlier in the tour, Roosevelt Square is actually fairly close to the Loop and some of the city’s nightlife. Not exactly as close as it boasts on its site, but you could walk to some of the restaurants and bars in Little Italy and University Village.

Location to the El could be an issue, especially if you’re living on the southern tip of the project. The nearest CTA stop is the Racine Blue Line stop at the Eisenhower Expressway, which could be as much as a 12-block walk if you’re down past Roosevelt.
