A drive through the McCormick Row House District

The Commission on Chicago Landmarks calls the McCormick
Row House District
“a fine example of late-19th century residential architecture and planning." That it is.

It’s also a fine example of late 20th century Chicago Lincoln Park politics. Two former 43rd Ward Aldermen reportedly received insider deals — and bargain-basement real estate tax assessments – when the McCormick Theological Seminary sold off the homes in the 1970s.
