The Scott Residences, a 6-story, 71-unit boutique building in Old Town is gearing up to receive its first occupants later this month.
I stopped by several days ago for a first look at some of the amenities, which are extensive for a building the size of Scott Residences.
The lobby, which will have 24/7 door staff, is complete and the adjacent “villa room” is nearly complete. The villa room has seating, a large TV, a pool table and a fireplace with an antique mantle.
My first stop on the top floor of the building was the resident lounge, which has a fireplace and will have a fully-equipped kitchen.
The lounge opens to a large south-facing sundeck which will be landscaped and include seating areas, a fire pit and gas grills.
Adjacent buildings frame a view of the skyline to the south.
A walkway heads north past a green roof area.
There’s an additional outdoor space on the north side of the building with a panoramic view over Old Town.
A relatively-large fitness room has floor-to-ceiling windows looking north.
I stepped out onto the balcony at one of the top-floor apartments for a quick look up and down Wells Street.
The pet-friendly, smoke-free building will have a first-floor dog run, a limited number of resident storage lockers, and a resident-only parking garage with complimentary bike racks.
Ground-level retail in the building includes a Starbucks, which is already open, and Massage Envy, which is slated to open next month.
Plum Market is directly across the street from The Scott Residences.
