Chicago Bulls Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen sold the 13,000 square foot home at 2320 Shady Lane in Highland Park in 1996, along with a great deal of his original furniture and artwork.

The home has been resold and is closing shortly.

This weekend, March 19 & 20, from 9 to 5, Sheryl Rue-Borden of SOS Estate Sales, is hosting an estate sale of for the 1,000s of items that remain in the home. Furniture, artwork, rugs and Bulls memorabilia signed by Scottie Pippen are included in the estate sale.

Sheryl toured me through the home, sketching some of what was for sale. I was, to put it mildly, complete overwhelmed by the number and variety of items up for sale. This estate sale has the potential to put a serious dent in sales at Target and Bed, Bath & Beyond this weekend.

Numbered tickets will be given out each day at 8 am, and only 25 people at a time will be allowed in the home at one time. Be prepared to wait your turn, and enjoy the time spent chatting with some of Scottie Pippen’s legions of Chicago-area fans.

NOTE: Sheryl Rue-Borden is also a real estate agent with Prudential Rubloff, a client of our firm.

Update: Highland Park Patch toured the home and posted an audio slide show.

  • When Scottie sold that home in 1996, one of the conditions of the sale was that he had to sign a piece of memorabilia every week or every month for a certain period of time, not sure for how long, but that is pretty funny.

  • Very disappointed. The promised memorabilia was not there at this sale. I was there at 7AM and was in the first group of 25 people let in. There was not any memorabilia in this home that Scottie Pippen left behind. It was just the previous owners left. Sure, there were 2-3 crappy framed Scottie Pippen autographed jerseys, but these were not Scottie Pippen’s jerseys. Scottie doesn’t own $25.00 retail jerseys, sign them, frame them and put them in his home. Scottie Pippen would have unsigned game used jerseys in his home, but the agent for this event used the fact that Scottie Pippen liven in this home from 1994-1996 to trick people to believe there were his original items for sale at this estate sale. There was nothing there that Scottie Pippen ever owned. He didn’t keep cards of himself and Michael Jordan that are now worthless that the seller is asking as much as $30.00 for.

Do not get tricked into going to this sale. The real estate agent who set this up tricked the public and the press into believing there was memorabilia that Scottie Pippen left in the house which is 100% not true. It is memorabilia that the previous home owners had, but defiantly not a single item that Scottie Pippen mysteriously left in the house.

A very bad tactic by this agent to trick people to waste the time to come to her overpriced event.

A lady who is a purse expert told me that all the big name brand purses were counterfeit also. Very suspicious.

Also, not a single autographed Michael Jordan item was available in this sale. There was a plate with a facsimile signature of Michael Jordan, but not one Michael Jordan autograph could be found.

This real estate agent should be investigated for fraud. Over 400 people were outside the house when I left just after 9:30AM. The free press for an event that facts were not honest should not be allowed.

  • Sam S,

You’re accusing the agent of misrepresenting something that I didn’t see or hear her represent.

Nothing there that Scottie ever owned? What about the furniture, the artwork, the slots, etc. etc?

Whatever gave you the impression that there was Jordan authographed stuff?

Do you even know what the word memorabilia means?

Sorry you were disapppointed but you appear to have done that to yourself by creating your own expectations out of thin air rather than paying attention.

    Next time, stick to facts.

And realize that there are many people like me who firmly believe that only complete jerks make this sort of accusation anonymously.

  • Who is going to buy furniture and artwork for 10X it’s original value just because it was used by Scotty Pippen?… You know damn well this was all a marketing ploy to attract people Joe Zekas, so don’t piss on peoples leg and tell them it’s raining…

When someone says Scotty Pippen memorabilia, the first thing that comes to mind sure as hell isn’t furniture or art, it’s sports items… Why didn’t she just say “a lot of furniture and art owned by Scotty? Instead she said “a lot of Scotty Pippen Memorabelia, meaning it was specific to him” False marketing = SCAM!

Only jerk that has commented in here so far is you Joe…

  • Your screen name says it all.

Anyone who watches the video can see exactly what’s been offered.

Once again, the misrepresentation comes from a commenter who can’t be bothered by the facts and who doesn’t much understand sports fans.

  • Just saw video tour of estate sale at 2320 shady lane. I know it’s over; but I was just wondering if any items were left over and still available for consideration?

  • Everything Pippen-related sold within the first hour of the first day.

If anything else was left over it would go to SOS Estate Sales retail outlet.

  • Will be in the Chicago land area this weekend: what is the address of SOS Estate Sales Retail Outlet, and your hours of operation?

  • W’rejust a publisher, not the company. See their Web site for the info you seek.

  • Is the estate sale still going on,or is it over with?
