The Oasis on Sheridan

Last night, we stopped by the open house for Oasis on Sheridan, one of two new homes from developer Robert Clark. Located at 2961 N Sheridan Rd, the home was rehabbed from two smaller units to create an ultra-modern four-bedroom residence, complete with a waterfall atrium and a four-car garage.

Several rooms have windows overlooking the atrium, allowing light into the center of the long, narrow home, and a couple of rooms have skylights. The futuristic fixtures in the kitchen and bathrooms add to the modern style.

Pat Cullen and Jack Smith of Sussex and Reilly have the property listed at $2.7 million.

  • I like the interior of this place (I went to one of the many open houses, which have been held pretty much every weekend), although there are drawbacks like the galley kitchen and the lack of a walk-in closet for the master bedroom. Overall, the developer did a good job.

Still, I think the place is overpriced. It’s been on the market for 10 months with one price cut (from $3M), but I think it should be cut further.

The current marketing ploy is interesting, if a bit hokey–slapping a sign saying “The Oasis on Sheridan” in front of it. (And calling the other unit “The Villa on Sheridan.”)

  • I thought both properties were absolutely beautiful and worth every penny. If it weren’t for an unfortunate family event happening the week after I saw the property, I would have paid full market for the Oasis.
