A mini-tour of the new Scott Residences in Old Town

It’s been just over 3 weeks since my last visit to The Scott Residences, a new 71-unit apartment building at the corner of Scott and Wells in Old Town.

There’s been a great deal of progress during that time period, beginning with the opening of the on-site Starbucks. Signage indicates that Massage Envy will be opening in November.

The lobby is complete, and there’s an adjacent “villa room” with a billiards table and TV. The lobby and villa room create a club-like ambiance. The 6th-floor fitness room, resident lounge, sundeck and other amenities are several weeks away from completion.

The building is one-third leased in just over a month. The model that I visited, an 855 square foot one-bedroom that rents from $2,713 a month, has been one of the most popular according to a leasing agent. Floor plans are available online.

The apartment has high ceilings, plank flooring that extends throughout, a full-size stackable washer / dryer with extra space in the appliance closet, and individual heating and air-conditioning units with exposed ductwork for a loft aesthetic. There’s a coat closet at the entry, and a very useful desk nook for an in-home office area.

The kitchen has ample cabinets, including a pantry, and good counter space. Kitchen designers have been noting a trend away from stainless steel, and the appliance package here is finished in black.

The bedroom has enough space for large furniture.

The oversized bath has a large vanity and a tile tub surround that extends to the ceiling. The bath opens from the entry hall and from the bedroom via a spacious walk-through closet.

The Scott Residences has convertible, 1, 2- and 3-bedroom apartments. An on-site leasing office is now open seven days a week. Lease-up incentives vary, so inquire at the leasing office.
