A ‘Modernist interpretation’ of a Kenwood mansion, priced at $1.59 million

4824 S Woodlawn Ave, Chicago

Looking for an alternative to all those Queen Annes and Italianate mansions in Kenwood? This James Nagle-designed single-family at 4824 S Woodlawn Ave in Kenwood was listed yesterday for $1.59 million. According to Realtor Jan Smith‘s listing, the 4,200 square-foot, four-bedroom home “presides over a trememdous 90×300’ lot of manicured green space for outdoor enjoyment & tranquility, and features “creative, sun drenched open space-contemplative hallways, curved walls & huge windows.” It was built in 1980 and featured in a 1982 issue of Architectural Digest, according to Smith.

2009 taxes for the home were $13,948.
