The model was the only unit that was complete when I stopped by 1951 W Belmont Ave, a new 6-unit condo in Roscoe Village.
This was one of several dozen Ultimate Homes units that I’ve visited. They’re all similar and all very different. The similarities are in the extreme amount of detailing in the homes — details that still result in a clean, crisp modern look.
The differences are also in the details. This highly contemporary home has, in the words of Sergio & Banks Sam Banks, “features that remind you of a 100-year old house in Oak Park.” Those features include tray ceilings, crown moldings, high baseboards, extensive wainscoting and — the first I’ve seen in a new city condo — a mud room off the rear door.
