A prime corner in the South Loop?

Park Michigan may be in a holding pattern – and that’s a generous characterization, given the recent foreclosure suit filed against the developer – but the site itself remains attractive in the fast-growing South Loop neighborhood.

I strolled past Park Michigan‘s sign last week and snapped this photo of the location (9th Street and Wabash Avenue). That’s just one block west of Grant Park and a stone’s throw from the Roosevelt transit station – but really, you could almost walk to a job in the Loop from this address.

Regardless of what happens with Park Michigan, we’ll keep an eye on this site. It may not be right for an 80-story high-rise, but this location won’t be a parking lot forever.
