A private lane, somewhere in rural Wayne

For some folks, transit-oriented development means building the house a tad closer to the horse barn, or adding a 6-car garage.

Wayne is a largely rural village that harks to its equestrian past. It still maintains one of only two fox hunts in the Chicago area, though no foxes (to the disappointment of many) are harmed during the annual “hunt.”

If you’re looking for acreage and privacy, head south from the comparatively dense bustle of the Barringtons and take a look at Wayne.
