A rooftop view from K2 at K Station

A week rarely goes by without my visiting at least one Chicago rooftop.

Yesterday I rode the construction elevator to the top of K2 at K Station, a 496-unit, 34-story apartment tower in the Fulton River District that’s scheduled for occupancy in April of next year.

The views were spectacular in every direction despite hazy conditions to the south and west. The above view was shot from the northeast corner of the building, looking north and east.

McHugh Construction‘s Owen Smith showed me around, and patiently and knowledgeably answered a lot of questions.

I’ll be posting more views in the coming days. If you like panoramic views of Chicago, check out our album at Flickr.
