Last week, Zekas and I set out for a drive north along Lake Shore Drive. Before returning to the office, we doubled back to Columbus Drive for a closer look at the magnificent Chicago skyline fronting Grant Park.

I’ve always felt that Columbus Dr could use a nice midline row of trees/planters. Sure it would probably eliminate the road’s capacity, but I think aesthetically it would do a lot to reduce the road’s impact on Grant Park; right now Columbus really takes a lot away from Grant Park’s park-like ambience
