Next year (2011) will mark the 60th anniversary of the opening of the Choo Choo restaurant in downtown Des Plaines.
This vintage diner seems little changed and reportedly remains a favorite spot for kids birthday parties. This aging kid and his 27-year old son watched — and shared — the delight that five-year olds experienced as the choo-choo delivered baskets of cheeseburgers and fries.
