Constance Avenue, Jackson Park Highlands

Here’s a look around Constance Avenue in Jackson Park Highlands, which for my money is every bit as pretty as Cregier Avenue to the west.

  • nice to see repairs to original gutters with copper. The best feature of these homes was the fantastic circulation of the lake breezes. Unfortunately I doubt anyone will open their windows all day/night in these parts anymore

  • The one thing you don’t see here is “security doors”.

You also don’t see many fences generally blocking off access to rear yards.

The crime rate may be low there. I biked through there last year and it was very quiet and pretty.

Just to let you know, The Highlands was part of that District’s high crime target area only 2 months ago.

  • I guess looks can be deceiving. My “late” wife looked like an angel. Tall, reddish hair, green eyes, great laugh and smile……..oh well.

Don’t ask about the “late” part. There is no statue of limitations on that kinda thing!

  • I golf at Jackson Park sometimes and I’ve worked in the area. It is very quiet. The problem is on the busy streets. I would think that the look of this neighborhood makes it a target. It’s a damn shame too. People who can afford to live here deserve to live in peace and quiet.
