Chicagoans love their public parks, and the Park District is about to give them another one to enjoy. Ted Guarnero, our Chicago Loft Guide, recommended we check out the state of construction at Park #542, also advertised as Adams Sangamon Park, bounded by Adams, Monroe, Peoria, and Sangamon streets in the West Loop. Chain link and construction netting still ring the park, masking most of it from view at street level, but it was easy to find some gaps in the fence to snap these pics.
Check our YouTube channel later this week for video from Adams Sangamon Park.

This park is looking great! I’m very excited for it to open up this summer.
This damm park is still not open!!!
What gives?
According to the West Loop Gate Community Organization website, there is a “strong possibility” that the park will officially open Sunday, 8/15: http://www.westloop.org/news/contentview.asp?c=228246
The fences surrounding Park #542, a highly anticipated new park district in the West Loop, are scheduled to come down on Aug. 12.
