Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool, Lincoln Park

This Chicago landmark, designed by a disciple of Jens Jensen, was recently restored in a manner that, to my view, isn’t an improvement. Yes, the non-native species (including the goldfish) are gone, but some of those species were mature trees that made this a lovely, secluded spot with a dense tree canopy. It’s now more open, and less alluring.
