Today was National Rebuilding Day, and YoJoe and YoVal spent the day in Englewood, where Rebuilding Together Chicago was repairing 49 homes owned by low-income elderly, disabled and families.
We were part of a group from St Francis Church in Wilmette that was painting and repairing an elderly homeowner’s bungalow to enable her to stay “warm, safe and dry” in the place where she’d lived for nearly 40 years and raised her family.
