An updated look at the long-awaited Roosevelt Collection retail

It was nearly four years ago when Chicago’s ever-deceptive rental services tried to sucker renters into the Lofts at Roosevelt Collection with the promise of “40+ great shops” and “Fabulous restaurants and outdoor cafes.” Many a lease has expired in the interim without any part of that promise having been fulfilled.

In February of 2012 developer Dan McCaffery announced a “plan to have 75% of our retail stores leased and opening” by November of last year. Many a lease has expired in the interim without that plan having been fulfilled.

The Shops at Roosevelt Collection now has a website where you can follow the lumbering progress of the retail offerings.

I visited the site last week and, as you can see from the photos, there were indications that a few shops will be opening soon.
